Château Villefranche - Graves During the 1980s, Mr. Henri Guinabert began producing a second wine from just outside the Sauternes appellation. While remaining very close to the Haut-Barsac plateau and continuing to rigorously select the areas of terroir used, he purchased vines around Pujols-sur-Ciron with a view to restructuring them. The terroir is composed of both calcareous clay and sandy-gravelly soil. This combination of soil types gives the wine it's unique complexity which, through meticulous work from harvesting through to vinification, results in a rich bouquet worthy of a Graves, with its woody and red fruit aromas. Surface area: 6 ha Terroir: Calcareous clay and sandy-gravelly soil Grape varieties: Merlot 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 30%, Cabernet Franc 10% Ageing: Barrel ![]() |
